Being a Licensed FFL Dealer, we are able to provide both incoming and outgoing firearm transfer services to our customers. Whether to and/or from a private party sale, online gun auction or from another dealer located within the U.S., we can assist you!
-All firearms being transferred must be Maryland legal/compliant. Maryland compliant handguns must be listed on the Maryland Handgun Roster (or manufactured prior to 1985). CLICK HERE to view the Maryland Handgun Roster.
-If a handgun is manufactured after 2002, it must be equipped with a Maryland Approved "Integrated Mechanical Safety Device".
-All firearms must be transferred to/from a valid FFL holder unless a "private party transfer" is being performed (non-regulated firearms only) at MSAR in which both individuals must be present.
-All firearms must be transferred with a MSP approved lock.
*TRANSFER CANCELLATIONS: We will charge a $100.00 return fee if you  transfer a non-Maryland legal firearm and cannot complete paperwork  fail the background check and the firearm needs to be returned to the seller. You are also responsible for return shipping costs for any firearm that has to be shipped back to where it was transferred from.
*FAILURE TO TRANSFER: Transfers will be held for 45 days from the date of receipt, unless an extended time frame is approved by MSAR. Any firearm left uncollected (not transferred) after 45 days without contact will become property of MSAR.

Non-Regulated Firearm: $75.00
Regulated Firearm: $100.00

MSAR Purchased Firearm(Any Type): $35.00
Customer Supplied Non-Regulated Firearm: $50.00
Customer Supplied Regulated Firearm: $75.00
FFL Request: Whoever you purchase your firearm from is going to need a copy of our FFL to complete the transfer to us. Upon request, we will send a copy of our FFL to the dealer/seller via fax or email.
Once our a copy of our FFL has been sent, the dealer/seller will ship your firearm to us. It is your responsibility to ensure your firearm has shipped out in a timely fashion. Please be sure to have the dealer/seller include the following with the firearm shipment:  completed MSAR Dealer Form (sent with FFL)  a copy of their FFL.

Once a copy of our FFL has been sent, the dealer/seller will ship your firearm to us. It is your responsibility to ensure your firearm has shipped out in a timely fashion. Please be sure to have the dealer/seller include the following with the firearm shipment:  completed MSAR Dealer Form (sent with FFL)  a copy of their FFL.
Please do not call us or come to our facility due to the shipment tracking info you receive. Once we have received your firearm, we must process it into our system which generally takes 24-48 hours. Once your firearm has been processed/received into our system, we will call you to let you know that the gun is ready for paperwork (regulated firearm) or paperwork and pick-up (non-regulated firearm).
