Firing_Range_Rules___Requirements_Page_Title


At Maryland Small Arms Range, we want to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable on our range. Below is a list of rules and requirements we ask you to follow to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.These rules and requirements are non-negotiable and are enforced with the utmost sincerity. Any violations will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or revocation of range use. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.
 

Age / Documentation Rules & Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to use the range, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • We must hold a valid driver's license, state issued ID or passport while you use the range.
  • You must be 21 years of age or older to test and evaluate our firearms.
  • We must hold a matching Credit or Debit Card while you test and evaluate our firearms.

General / Safety Rules & Requirements:

  • Use of alcoholic beverages or drugs prior to or during shooting is prohibited.
  • All firearms must be unloaded and in a case when brought to our facility.
  • No Steel Core, Incendiary, Tracer, Exploding or Tipped Ammunition of any kind is permitted on the premises.*If you are found in possession with any of the ammunition listed above, you will be fined a minimum repair fee of $20.00!*
  • If you are test and evaluating our firearms, you must purchase our ammunition. No personal ammunition is allowed in our firearms.
  • Only two people are permitted per shooting station/lane.
  • Food, drink and tobacco products are not permitted on the range.
  • When moving through the facility, all firearms must be unloaded and in a case or in the provided range basket.
  • Know that the firearm and ammunition you are usining are compatible. If you're unsure, just ask!
  • Know how the firearm you are using operates. If you're unsure, just ask!
  • Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times.
  • Keep your firearm unloaded until you are at your shooting station/lane and ready to shoot.
  • Always point the muzzle in a safe direction.
  • Keep your finger off the trigger until on target and ready to fire.
  • Do not hit anything other than the paper target.
  • Never move forward of the firing line.
  • If there is an issue with your firearm or shooting station/lane, please leave everything as is and advise a sales associate.
  • If at any time you feel unconfortable/unsafe on the range or with your surroundings, please advise a sales associate right away.
